
His Lordship, the Hon. Justice Trevor Ward, KC
His Lordship, the Hon. Justice Trevor Ward, KC is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad. He is the holder of B.A (Hons.); LL.B (Hons.) and the Legal Education Certificate.
Justice Ward commenced his legal career in 1997 as an Associate in the firm of Gift & Co., Tobago. In 1998, he was appointed State Counsel in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Trinidad & Tobago and promoted to the post of Senior State Counsel in 2003. From 2004 to 2005, Justice Ward served as an Associate Tutor in the Law of Evidence at the Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad.
In August 2005, Justice Ward joined the Chambers of the Attorney General in the Cayman Islands. In 2011, he became the first office holder of the newly created position of Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions. In August 2013, Justice Ward attained the pinnacle of his career at the bar when he was appointed King’s Counsel.
On 1st September 2016, Justice Ward was appointed a Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. He was assigned to the Saint Christopher Circuit, where he presided in both Criminal and Civil Divisions. He has also sat temporarily in the Territory of the Virgin Islands and in Anguilla.
Justice Ward is a former member of the Sentencing Advisory Committee and the Judicial Ethics Review Committee of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. Until his appointment to the Court of Appeal, Justice Ward served as Chairman of the Anguilla Disciplinary Tribunal.
In September 2022 Justice Ward was elevated as a Justice of Appeal, Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
