Twenty six mediators representing the 6 independent states and 3 dependent territories of the OECS received training in family mediation during the week of 3rd to 7th April 2017. The training workshop, the first of its kind in the OECS, took place in Antigua and Barbuda, the site for the ECSC pilot project to establish the first family division of the Court in the region. Antigua and Barbuda was selected being one of the states most advanced with the modernization of its family laws and the strong commitment and support from the government.
This training workshop was jointly funded by USAID (under its Juvenile Justice Reform Project (JJRP2) and UNICEF and was executed through the collaborative effort of the OECS Commission and the ECSC. Participants to this training were fully funded by these donors.
