Appeals Quarterly Report – July to September 2017
APPEALS DATA
THIRD QUARTER: JULY TO SEPTEMBER 2017
The following tables highlight data on the Court of Appeal for the third quarter (July to September) 2017. There were 3 video/teleconferences held in the period during which the 3 listed matters were heard. 1 full court sitting was held during which 48 matters were heard out of the 55 matters listed for hearing. Additionally there were 3 Chamber Hearings held where 84 matters were heard out of the 96 matters listed for hearing. It should be noted that the Court of Appeal has no sittings in August hence the figures for this quarter are generally lower than for other quarters of the same year. In addition, the only full court sitting which took place within this quarter was in the Territory of the Virgin Islands. The Dominica sitting was postponed due to the effects of the hurricane in September 2017.
